roller q derby a - Urrk’n Jerk’n - Part 3

URRK’N JERK’N:  The next prank I play is on Raw Heidi from Team UK and her girlfriend Collette, Juke and I take the drawing and place it on their door like Joy had done to our door.  The next day Collette comes up to me and tells me what happened; all the while she is thinking that Joy put the drawing on her door, so she asks me to help her get her back, so of course I can’t say no.  So we make a plan to get in her room with Acid since Acid is her roommate.  Acid warns Collette that she will have to play a prank on her since Joy is her roommate and Teammate.  So they take the drawing and turn it over, Collette and Raw Heidi draw a big Penis and write you’ve been fucked by Team UK and place it in Joy and AJ’s bed.  Meanwhile Acid asks if she can use their bathroom while we place the drawing in their bed.  Acid draws on the mirror in their bathroom a big heart with Team USA in the middle.  Later that night all of Team USA decides to play a prank on Team UK, so Joy talks to their coach and gets him in on the prank.  His role is to get the team up to a room in the hotel by telling them they have a team meeting.  So he gets the Team UK into the room and sends Joy a message.  Next Team USA walks into the room and does a dance for Team UK.  Eventually I tell Joy about the condom. We all had a lot of fun.

DARSTROSITY:  What’s your difference about playing flat track and banked track?

UJ:  A person uses different muscles for Flat track versus Banked track.  I would like to see some of the rules from banked track implemented into flat track.  For instance 1 minute jams vs 2 minute jams, serving your penalty at the end of the jam instead of during the jam.  A pack start box; instead of starting anywhere between pivot and jammer line.

D:  In one word…what’s the best thing to do at an after party?

UJ:  Dance

D:  Any words of wisdom to the derby folk out there?

UJ:  Roller Derby is a team sport don’t forget about your team.

D:  LAST QUESTION if roller derby becomes a pro level status, would you come back as a player or a coach?

UJ:  Depends on when it happens, if it is in the next few years probably a player in the next 10 years probably a coach.

DARSTROSITY:  Your skills are amazing.  For example at west regionals in 2010 against Bay Area, you had to be in the zone and in control like passing through a blocker riding on one skate and going through a gauntlet of blockers.  To me, that was just awesome; can you remember what was it like to be in that situation?

URRK’N JERK’N: Honestly I don’t really remember, I just let me body and skates take me where I need to go.

D:  When you played your first game, how many fans did you get?

UJ:  I am not sure, however I can tell you that after the first game at Regionals in 2010 I started receiving friend requests on facebook almost immediately.  That was really cool.

D:  Winning the championship in 2010, was it sad that you fouled out during the game?

UJ:  Yes I was extremely sad that I fouled out, I hate fouling out.

D:  Also in 2010 you became rookie of the year and no joke I said you got this.  How rewarding was it that you received that?

UJ:  That was really cool, I love to play roller derby and don’t understand myself how my body and skates do the things they do.  I never imagined that I would receive such a cool award.

D:  Playing for Team USA you won, how was the trip to Canada and any funny stories during that trip?

UJ:  Trip to Canada was a lot of fun; I met a lot of really cool people that just loved Team USA.  Funny stories, so many to tell so I will tell you about a few of the pranks.  They all started with a few of Team USA members going to dinner with some of the girls from Team UK the first night.  At dinner the restaurant had paper as the table cover and had crayons on the table so we could color.  Joy Collision mentioned that we should come up with a World Cup design and all get matching tattoos so everyone started drawing different designs; some great and some not so great.  We all decided that we should keep the giant set of drawings; so Joy and AJ took the drawing back to their room with them.

Later that night about 1:30am I hear a knock and laughing outside my door.  So I woke up looked out the peep hole and can’t see anything so I open the door.  They had hung the drawing on the outside of my door, I thought it was funny but didn’t want them to know I had woke up and found it so I shut the door and went back to bed.  The next morning I told Juke about what they did and told her not to let them know we found it to act like we never saw it.  So they would think someone else took it down.  So later that morning as Juke and I walked into the lobby Joy sheepishly asks how our night went, I reply; well except for the fire alarm that went off in the middle of the night.  Joy then asks if we noticed anything else and I say no, well then Juke starts smiling and laughing and apologizes to me for not being able to keep a straight face.  Later that night I get Joy back – Me and 2 other accomplices go into her room to drop off something, I distract her roommate by asking her to show me what she is doing on her computer and one of the other accomplices places the condom with spit in it in her bed.  I then ask the other accomplice if we are finished and she says yes, so we leave.  The next morning Joy comes into my room and explains that they found a condom in their bed and had to call housekeeping to change their sheets.  I didn’t tell her that I had done it.

The conclusion of the story will be on Friday.

roller q derby a - Urrk’n Jerk’n - Part 1

DARSTROSITY:  What’s your derby name?

URRK’N JERK’N: Urrk’n Jerk’n as Booty Block Ya. But everyone calls me Urrk’n

D:  How did you get that name?

UJ:  My family used to call me Jerky and it somehow turned into Urrky Jerky so I changed it to Urrk’n Jerk’n.  Booty Block Ya came from me wanting to be called Booty Block Ya.  My sister Ricci Rocket who played; encouraged me to start FoCo Girls Gone Derby told me I should go with Urrk’n Jerk’n but I wanted to be called Booty Block ya so I decided to use Urrk’n Jerk’n as Booty Block Ya.

D:  How long you been skating, and skating for derby?

UJ:  I have been skating for about 37 years and have been playing derby for about 6 years.

D:  How did you got into roller derby?

UJ:  I went to see my sister Ricci Rocket play with RMRG and wanted to start playing with them.  My sister convinced me to start FoCo Girls Gone Derby so that I wouldn’t have to drive to Denver.

D:  How long you played for rocky mountain?

UJ:  Since July of 2010

D:  Playing with Rocky Mountain, what did you learn the most from them?

UJ:  That strategy and Team work are a huge part of roller derby, a person can be an excellent skater but if they don’t understand strategy and team work then they won’t be very good.
